Baby and Toddler Music Classes- Before having a baby, I was a music educator and then a performing musician.  After having a baby, I combined these two backgrounds into a really exciting music program for Babies and Toddlers!  I strive to inspire, entertain, and educate in each class.  These babies probably have no idea how much they're learning!  It is also important to me that the parents and caregivers are having a great time and making connections with their own little one as well as the other adults.  And we laugh plenty!  I think this is so important in any environment, but these classes are meant to enhance your life and create a wonderful and memorable experience with your baby.  I have been teaching them now for 4 years and in that time, they have grown to 16 classes at 5 locations and over 100 babies weekly!!  I am honored to be part of the DC parent community and to play this role.  I take my fun seriously through thoughtful preparation and complete dedication to sound academic excellence in my planning,  and then I just relax and have a great time with everyone.  Outside of the classes, I perform for Birthday Parties and other community events, such as the MOTH Family Fest and Make Music DC.  I'm also in a cool band called "Jerry Tolk and the Old Soul String Band" (Jerry being the guy who puts it all together and is a wonderful soul himself).

I have a BM in Music Performance and a MA in Teaching. I have National Board Certification in Music Education. Two years teaching preschool music at Westmoreland Preschool in Bethesda, two years at St Columba's in DC, as well as teaching classes to little ones (0-5 years) while I was attending college. Ten+ years teaching private lessons on flute, guitar and voice, four+ years as a Public Music Educator (middle school band and chorus, orchestra and ESL summer kindergarten), and several years as a performing musician, the last 2 years performing professionally in the DC area, including places like the 930 Club and Black Cat. Locally, I have volunteered with the Guitars Not Guns DC Chapter, Girls Rock! DC, and the Foggy Bottom Senior Guitar Orchestra.
